DMCA / Copyright Procedure
Effective date: April 22, 2026 Version: 2026-04-22
Protogy Labs respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of Spinscreen to do the same. This page describes how to submit notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512 ("DMCA"), and how to submit counter-notices.
1. Designated Agent
Notices of alleged copyright infringement must be sent to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent — Protogy Labs Email: support@spinscreen.io (subject line: "DMCA Notice") Postal: [Protogy Labs designated-agent mailing address — to be filed with the U.S. Copyright Office and filled in here]
Designated agent registration with the U.S. Copyright Office is in progress. Notices submitted to support@spinscreen.io will be accepted in the interim.
2. How to submit a takedown notice
To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list, if multiple works on the Service are covered by a single notice).
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, with information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it (for example, a direct URL or identifier within the Service).
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, including your address, telephone number, and an email address.
- The following statement, included verbatim: "I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
- The following statement, included verbatim: "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."
Send the notice to support@spinscreen.io with the subject line "DMCA Notice" (or to the postal address above).
Misrepresentations are unlawful. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.
3. What we do when we receive a notice
When we receive a complete, good-faith DMCA notice, we will:
- Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material.
- Notify the user or organization that posted the material, providing a copy of the notice (with personal contact information of the complainant redacted where appropriate).
- Inform the user of the counter-notice procedure described below.
We may also, at our discretion, terminate the accounts of users we determine to be repeat infringers, in line with our repeat-infringer policy (Section 5).
4. Counter-notice procedure
If you believe your material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), your counter-notice must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which it appeared before it was removed or disabled.
- The following statement, included verbatim: "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that I have a good faith belief that the material identified above was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled."
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, the federal district court for the district in which Protogy Labs may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notice or from that person's agent.
Send the counter-notice to support@spinscreen.io with the subject line "DMCA Counter-Notice".
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the complainant. If the complainant does not file an action seeking a court order against you within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the removed material.
5. Repeat-infringer policy
In appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, we will terminate the accounts of users — including organization-account holders and pseudonymous viewers — whom we determine to be repeat infringers of copyright.
6. Other intellectual property complaints
For complaints relating to trademarks, rights of publicity, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights not covered by the DMCA, please email support@spinscreen.io with a description equivalent to the elements of a DMCA notice in Section 2.
